KING’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS 2026

RSL OFFICE CLOSED 3/6/26 - 8/6/26
Due to structural repairs on the first floor of the Torrens Training Depot building on Wednesday 3/6, Thursday 4/6 and Friday 5/6 this week our offices will be closed. Site management has stipulated that no staff or volunteers may be on the office level during the construction work.
King’s Birthday Gun Salute 12PM 6/6/2026
The King’s Birthday 21 gun artillery salute was fired on the Torrens Parade Ground at 12 noon on Saturday 6th June 2026.
Civilian Service Medal 1939-1945
The Civilian Service Medal 1939-1945 was awarded to those who rendered service in support of the broader war effort.
The medal recognises civilians who served in arduous circumstances in organisations with military-like arrangements and conditions of service. Examples of roles are Australian Women's Land Army, the Civil Construction Corps, Red Cross Emergency Service Companies and other eligible groups.
ILLUMINATE ADELAIDE 2026
Illuminate Adelaide is an annual, winter event in Adelaide’s streets, gardens and open spaces. It is a collection of artistic, visual displays and interactive experiences, some ticketed and some free: Illuminate Adelaide - Home
Each year an exhibition is held on the lawn in front of the South Australian War Memorial on North Terrace and a temporary toilet facility is also installed alongside. RSL SA approval is requested and granted.
ADVOCACY INFORMATION SESSION 26/5/26
RSLSA is proud to host the ATDP SA Advocacy information session at TPG on 26 May 2026, 9am – 4pm. Morning tea and lunch provided.
If you are assisting veterans with their claim lodgements here in SA, we strongly encourage you to attend, given the new act takes effect from 1st July 2026.
ABORIGINAL VETERANS SERVICE 29/5/26
The 2026 Aboriginal Veterans' Commemorative Service will be held at 10:30am on Friday 29th May at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander War Memorial, Torrens Parade Ground, Victoria Drive, Adelaide.
Veterans, ADF members, families and public are welcome to attend.
GUN SALUTE 5/5/2026
A 19 gun salute will be fired on Tuesday 5th May 2026 at 3:15pm for the Opening of the Parliament of South Australia. Due to ADF safety regulations there will be no car parking, or vehicle access onto the Torrens Parade Ground during the day.
The RSL South Australia office will be closed and reopen on Wednesday 6th May.
PETER BADCOE VC MEDAL AWARDED
Congratulations to Jason Horne-Francis, awarded the Peter Badcoe VC Medal for his performance in the Port Adelaide v Geelong ANZAC APPEAL Match at the Adelaide Oval on Anzac Day.
