Civilian Service Medal 1939-1945

The Civilian Service Medal 1939-1945 was awarded to those who rendered service in support of the broader war effort.

The medal recognises civilians who served in arduous circumstances in organisations with military-like arrangements and conditions of service. Examples of roles are Australian Women's Land Army, the Civil Construction Corps, Red Cross Emergency Service Companies and other eligible groups.

COASTAL COMMAND MEMORIAL 30/3/26

A new Coastal Command Memorial was dedicated on Monday 30th March 2026 on the Pathway of Honour, Adelaide. The memorial acknowledges the service and sacrifice of RAAF and RAF personnel during WW11, on many tasks over the North Atlantic, English Channel, North Sea and the Mediterranean.

RSL RESPONSE TO US PRESIDENT’S CLAIMS

The RSL categorically rejects the assertion by United States’ President Donald Trump that allied forces "stayed a little back, a little off the front lines" in Afghanistan.

This claim is factually wrong, historically ignorant, and deeply offensive to the 47 Australian service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice, the 261 wounded, and the nearly 40,000 Australians who served in our nation's longest war.
