His Majesty King Charles the Third
His Majesty King Charles III has accepted patronage of the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL). This continues the RSL’s long association with the monarchy, following on from the more than 70-year patronage of the League by the King’s mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

7RAR FAREWELL TO ADELAIDE 26/10/24
The 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment farewelled South Australia with a formal parade at Torrens Parade Ground on Saturday 26 October.
Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide
The Final Report of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicides has been presented to parliament.
The RSL is calling for an independent National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Wellbeing to lead implementation of the recommendations made by the Royal Commission and to ensure there is a sustained and permanent watch on the health and wellbeing of veterans, ex-serving ADF members, and their families.
INTERFET 25 ANNIVERSARY
International Force East Timor 1999 INTERFET was the Australian Government initiative to re-install law and order to the trouble people of East Timor.
Veterans, families and schoolchildren marked the INTERFET East Timor 25th anniversary with a well attended commemoration in Adelaide on Friday 20th September 2024.

A well attended Vietnam War Commemorative Service was held at the Vietnam War Memorial, Torrens Parade Ground, Adelaide on Sunday 18 August 2024.
MESSINES MURAL, EDWARDSTOWN SA
Messines Avenue and Mons Avenue at Edwardstown, South Australia, were named to commemorate Great War Battles. For decades an Avenue of Honour of two rows of English Elm trees on Messines Avenue has been a visible reminder of the tremendous loss, sacrifice and service.
A new mural on a building wall on the northern side of the avenue is a visual depiction of Great War scenes and memorabilia.
FROM 6TTU TO VIETNAM - APC TRIALS
𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟔𝐓𝐓𝐔 𝐭𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐧𝐚𝐦 - 𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐏𝐂 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚. In 1964, the army conducted a testing program at Innisfail, Queensland for a range of Armoured Personnel Carriers, support vehicles and weaponry, for jungle warfare suitability - the 6 Tropical Trials Unit. The trials saw the introduction of the M113A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier into the Australian Army.
THAILAND Paver Dedication 15/8/22
On 15 August 2022 sacrifice, suffering and service was commemorated with dedication of a THAILAND paving block on Adelaide's Anzac Centenary Memorial Walk.
