Gallipoli 2015: Preparations for the 100th anniversary Anzac Day commemorations at Gallipoli in 2015 are well underway for the Australians and New Zealanders who were successful in the ballot for attendance.

Following the deadline to confirm attendance and provide travel details on 25 October 2014 for primary pass holders, 634 took no action to accept, decline or provide mandatory travel details and 303 declined their offer. Therefore, more than 900 passes were released to the more than 38,000 Australians on the waitlist. These passes were offered in the category in which they were originally allocated i.e. a pass declined by a direct descendant was offered to the next direct descendant on the waitlist.

The wait-list will operate until 31 March 2015. Those offered a place on the waitlist will have 14 calendar days to accept or decline their place and provide their travel details as well as their accompanying person from the date of the issue of offer.

The wait-list will be updated regularly on the Gallipoli 2015 website www.gallipoi2015.dva.gov.au

For those who are confirmed to attend the commemorations, it is important to familiarise yourself with the information on the Gallipoli 2015 website, including what to expect and how to prepare, and have a look at the monthly e-Newsletters.

All Australians travelling to Turkey must obtain an e-visa before entering the country at www.evisa.gov.tr/en

They should also register their details on the Smartraveller website for travel advice and updates in the lead-up to the commemorations www.smartraveller.gov.au
